N26 and codebar iOS diversity workshop 3

Mon, 16 Sep 2019 19:00 to 21:30

This is the invite to our THIRD workshop! Please read the bottom of this invite to learn how you can prepare for workshop two if you were not at workshop one or two.

N26 is proud to be hosting our first ever iOS workshop series in partnership with codebar. These events will be held at the N26 offices on Kurfürstenstrasse and are intended to teach YOU the basics of iOS development and allow you to develop your skills and knowledge. iOS is the operating system used for iPhones and iPads. We will be making an app for iPhone that downloads news articles from the internet!

We'd love to teach anyone who is:

  • An underrepresented member of the development community (for example women, LGBTQI, PoC, non-binary).
  • Familiar with a modern coding language like javascript, ruby, java, kotlin, python, etc. (You don't need to be an experienced developer, just know what a for loop or a boolean does!)
  • Able to commit to the two remaining workshops on every other Monday evening from 16th September to 30th September.
  • Can bring a Macbook that has Xcode version 10 or above already installed.

Our talented N26 iOS developers are eager to share their knowledge with and welcome some more diverse faces into the Berlin iOS community!!

The dates for the workshops will be:

  1. Monday 19th August (19:00 - 21:30)
  2. Monday 2nd September (19:00 - 21:30)
  3. Monday 16th September (19:00 - 21:30)
  4. Monday 30th September (19:00 - 21:30)

Apart from training there will be at each workshop plenty of food, drinks, and some cool N26 merchandise!

There will be a codebar slack channel available (#berlin-ios-workshops) for the iOS developers to share code snippets, and for participants to ask questions!

IF YOU WISH TO ATTEND WORKSHOP THREE and were not at workshop one or two, we would advise to attempt the material from workshop one and two, found at here (workshop 1) and here (workshop 2).

In addition, you can learn some Swift basics using these resources.
