Git Workshop
Sat, 26th May | 09:30 - 17:00 BST (GMT+01:00)

Due to cancellations there's a few more spots left for this Saturday!

Are you a bit shaky with version control?

Do you want to see what it's like working collaboratively on a site with other developers?

Come along to our Git workshop!

The lovely folks at Ocasta have put together a workshop for us covering everything you need to know.

We'll be covering a bit of theory and then working in groups on a practical exercise, forking and working together to make changes to a webpage.

If you're lucky enough to get a space, please email us with any dietary restrictions and a photo of your lovely face!

Setup Instructions

In order to use Git, you need to make sure it's available on your platform. Follow the instructions here to make sure you're set up

What is version control and why do I need to learn it?

Version control helps to manage changes to source code over time. If a mistake is made, developers can turn back the clock and compare earlier versions of the code to help fix the mistake. Developing without using version control is risky, like not having backups. By far, the most widely used modern version control system in the world today is Git.

See you there!
